Role as a volunteer:
Volunteers are needed in order to provide assistance on the following recreation programs. Please take note that there are designated times on the corresponding locations, so make sure you are available if committed in volunteering.
Recreation Therapy Programs:
Coffee House = Monday, 6:30 pm – 8:15 pm
Bingo = Wednesday, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Poker = Thursdays, 2:45 pm – 4:15 pm
Crafts Group = Tuesday, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Foodies Corner = Tuesdays, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Hearts to Art = Wednesdays, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Looming Program = Thursdays, 10:00 – 12:00
Pub Night = Tuesdays, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Volunteer must be 19 years or older for this program)
Happy Chefs = Tuesdays, 1:45 pm – 3:45 pm
Community Outings & Special events = Full or half days, with the day of the week varies
Recreation Weekend Programs = Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon opportunities (Different programs offered each week afternoon)
Social = Wednesdays, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm (entertainment, scoops ice cream parlour, games)
Additional Information
- Centre wide orientation plus position specific orientation
- Required language: English
- Transportation: Close to bus or streetcar stop
- Minimum age: 14
- Minimum hours per week: 2 hours
- Task requirements: Friendly, enjoy recreation activities and socializing with others, MUST be able to make a minimum four-month commitment to the program
