Student Friendly Recipes – Oreo Fudge

Any time I go to an event at the Joe Louis arena, I always have to get a few pieces of fudge. For the longest time, I thought fudge was super hard to make, and then I started looking at recipes. By simply melting and combining a few ingredients and throwing it in your fridge to harden, you can have your very own homemade fudge, for far cheaper than those concessions stands at the Joe! It’s also a great gift for the Holiday season.

Ingredients:
1 (8-oucnce) package of cream cheese, softened
2 Cups of confectioner’s icing sugar
1 ½ Teaspoon of vanilla extract
15 ounces of white chocolate, chopped
15 Oreo cookies, broken into chunks

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
2. In a double boiler (one small pot inside a large pot half-filled with water sitting on a burner to boil water) heat white chocolate, stirring until smooth.
3. Stir melted white chocolate with Oreo cookies and cream cheese mixture. Spread on to a parchment lined baking dish. Chill in fridge for at least 4 hours before cutting. Cut into 1-inch squares and serve!
