anadian Olympian Melissa Bishop will be the focus of an Olympic send off Friday at the St. Denis Centre.
Hosted by the Department of Athletics, the send off will be held in the multi-purpose room from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. The 23-year-old earned a berth at the 2012 London Games following her second-place finish at the Canadian Track & Field Trials in Calgary in June.
Former Lancer Andrea Steen will be a guest speaker. Steen was the last female Lancer athlete to become an Olympian.
She competed in the 400-metre hurdles at the Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games in 1984.
